Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) Plan at Restaurant
Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) Plan at Restaurant INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATION (IMC) PLAN Integrated Marketing Communication first germinated in 1980 when many companies came to realize the need for a strategic integration of their promotional tools, instead of keeping them in separate silos. Integrated Marketing Communication is a common-sense approach of looking at communication tool- not as isolated elements that communicate different things to a consumer but as inter-related parts that are jointly go to solving communications problems. IMC includes the various tools like, advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, direct marketing, events, internet etc. IMPOTANCE OF INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATION (IMC): It helps the firm or company to cope up with the changes occurs in the market. It helps to improves internal and external communication. It helps to know the customer demands that what type of product is needs to be devoted in what area? It helps company to achieve its objective, vision and mission. It increases the productivity of the organization because management is more focused through it on its competitors. It helps to build teamwork, commitment, esprit de corps and share-of-mind. Encourages consideration of new marketing tactics and media. Abstract on Restaurant Industry The financial rewards and the personal satisfaction associated with having ones own business can be considerable. When the business is one with a high level of social interaction, such as a restaurant, there are personal rewards that move beyond the financial satisfaction that may result. The paper explains that a successful restaurant becomes a part of the community that it serves and can become a focal point of that community. This makes the restaurant business very different from other types of businesses and adds to the personal satisfaction that the owner receives. The paper shows, however, that restaurants also have traditionally low operating margins and are one of the riskier businesses that can be developed. Now for my term paper on the topic Restaurant, I had taken a hypothetical example of company named Reliance. It is assumed that Reliance, One of the biggest conglomerate is entering into the restaurant business in a big way (initially into India). So here is the marketing plan that how the company plans to establish itself into the restaurant industry. For initiating the idea into practical shape, The company had broadly had formulated its stretegy on the basis of time horizon i.e short and long tem. A brief of that is highlighted below: Short Term In the initial phase the company plans to enter in to this business with with opening of the restaurants in 4 metros cities of India i.e Delhi, Ahmadabad, Mumbai and Chennai. Long Term In its long term objective the company plans to come up with a public issue to facilitate finance to establish its restaurants into various important cities and region of India and along with can expand into the foreign countries. Company profile: Reliance The Reliance Group, founded by Dhirubhai H. Ambani (1932-2002), is Indias largest private sector enterprise, with businesses in the energy and materials value chain. Groups annual revenues are in excess of US$ 28 billion. The flagship company, Reliance Industries Limited, is a Fortune Global 500 company and is the largest private sector company in India. Backward vertical integration has been the cornerstone of the evolution and growth of Reliance. Starting with textiles in the late seventies, Reliance pursued a strategy of backward vertical integration in polyester, fibre intermediates, plastics, petrochemicals, petroleum refining and oil and gas exploration and production to be fully integrated along the materials and energy value chain. The Groups activities span exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals (polyester, fibre intermediates, plastics and chemicals), textiles, retail and special economic zones. Reliance enjoys global leadership in its businesses, being the largest polyester yarn and fibre producer in the world and among the top five to ten producers in the world in major petrochemical products. Every product before its launching has to make an IMC plan. The IMC planning process begin with a review of the marketing plan. A marketing plan is a written document that details the marketing objectives, strategies and tactics for an organization, product or brand, and guides the marketing efforts. THE IMC PLAN for Reliance Restaurant Situational Analysis: All marketing plan begins with a situational analysis, an assessment of the internal and external environmental factors are to be analyzed which affects the product, brand or organization. There are different points which come under it on the basis of which we will analysis our situation in the market. SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGTH: Brand image:-The main strength of that we can rely upon is the brand awareness of Reliance. No one in the market need to be introduced about the credibility and reliability of this company. It will become easy and boost our new diversified restaurant business. Strategy:-At the initial stage, the company plans to establish their restaurants in four metro cities of India and slowly will penetrate in to other regions and even in the foreign countries too. Customer Service: The company is very particular about the services to be offered to their customers as it is indispensible requirement for restaurant business to grow. WEAKNESS: Dynamic nature of customer: One of the important weakness for the resturant is the prediction of the nature, taste and prefrences of the customer is very difficult. Demographic changes: The another weakness is the demographic factor. The tradition changes and so as the prfrences for the food as we move from place to place OPPORTUNITIES: Potential: There is still huge untapped market in this business and really provide a potential to grow your business. THREATS Competitor: There are lots of excellent players already positioned themselves successfully like Barista, Mc Donalds, KFC. Etc., These will pose a tough competition for Reliance to enter into this business. The Competitive Situation: The restaurant industry is not an easy business to enter into because there are lots of excellent players already positioned themselves successfully but reliance as an excellent brand can really add up its value in this business. The various competitors in this business are highlighted below: Mc Donalds Burger King KFC Pizza Hut Coffee Cafà © Day (CCD) Barista The Promotion Situation: As the company already enjoys an excellent brand name, So this will prosper the marketing initiatives taken to promote its restaurant business. The company will be planning to promote heavily through through television, newspapers, magazines etc. Marketing Objectives: The main objectives of Reliance Restaurants are: To make the companys presence in the Restaurant industry. To look for diversification. To provide excellent facility to the customers and promotes companys goodwill. Customer satisfaction by providing food as per their region and tradition. Excellent service facility. Marketing Strategy: The company will initially be looking to open up their restaurants in the metro cities and then will look to diversify into other cities which is something as per the long term strategy. The marketing communication plan originates from the marketing plan and an integral part of the latter. The IMC objectives are laid down so as to fulfill marketing goals. In the IMC plan we select the right communication tools, integrate them, plans accompanying media and messages, and also allocates the communication budget to various tools. Following are the steps involved in the IMC planning process to be undertaken for Reliance Restaurant: Situational analysis: Like the marketing plan, in this we will also analyses the promotional situation. Following are the some common areas of analysis: Past promotional situation: There are already various competitors in existence in the restaurant industry ( mentioned above). So can analyze the various type of strategies followed by them to position themselves. This will basically involve analyzing the competitors strategy. Product situation: Barista, Coffee cafà © Day, KFC, Mc Donalds etc. are well established players in the restaurant industry and are implementing good strategies to phase out cut throat competition. If we take an example of KFC in India that how they changed their strategy in India to include vegetarian food in their menu as they earlier just served non-vegetarian food. Audience situation: Although there are many companies in this sector but still there is huge untapped market as the statistics depicts that most of the income being spent by the people on India is on food only. Competitive situation: As disclosed above about the extent of competition and had mentioned the various potential players in this industry. So had to analyze it fully. Determine the communication objective: Target Audience General high class people Business Class People Marketing Objectives Make the companys presence felt in the restaurant sector. Attract the business class people Media Strategy The main idea behind all of the integrated marketing communications and media strategy will be to deliver the message to the customers. Although the company has tremendous brand value but still it needs some efforts to make people aware about reliance entering into restaurant industry. Media Objective Use sponsorships as well as highly visual print and television advertisement To build a great image of the product this has a good brand image. Timing 12 month campaign commencing December 10th, 2010 Continually recycling and adapting to evaluation results over the next 1 years To change its strategy between the particular time periods so that customers get new things and new changes, the main purpose is also not to bore the person with same services. Advertising and communication tools Print ads in magazines Print is one of the oldest and the most highly regarded media of advertising and also a very challenging one. Executing a creative idea in the medium calls for various skills- creative writing, visualization, designing etc. The main idea behind the print ad is to attract the customer and provide them best knowledge. TV Advertisements While to plan a TV Advertisement, we should clear somethings which are very important for it: Brand itself The restaurants will be associated by the companys brand name i.e Reliance Restaurants. Big Idea The big idea can be initiated by associating a famous celebrity like Shahrukh Khan to promote our restaurants. Strategy Providing excellent support network to attract the customers like by initiating the online method of providing services and also providing thebest catering services to the customers. Tagline The tagline adopted for the resultants is Big Meal Time Newspaper advertising The advertisement can be initiated in the newspaper as it results in wide and effective coverage. Billboards The billboards is regarded as the modern source of advertisement in which the electric boards are displayed on the road side. So it looks to be an innovative idea to display the billboards in the cities where the resurants are established. Events: The advertisement can be done through events. It is regarded as most innovative and a creative kind of advertisement which generally produces results and promotes mass awareness. Direct marketing tools It is strongly recommended that nature fresh must an effective web presence in this interactive world .To promote the entire site, an online marketing program must be launched. A comprehensive, highly targeted group of destination web sites must be chosen for the program. The web site should be registered with yahoo search portal. And a number of tactical elements will help drive online awareness and inquiries into the program including: Online webinars Online newsletters Search engine registration Web site links Content marketing and licensing Opt-in email Specialized promotions and partnerships Evaluation of the Planned IMC Evaluation of an IMC plan is not easy because often communications effects are difficult to measure. At times they may not even have a direct impact on sales or profitability; effects may be delayed, etc. Therefore it is important to set the objective or standards for measuring performance in specific, measurable terms to make the evaluation possible. After doing all these now its time to evaluate the performance, the performance is satisfactory as we had imagined because its quit difficult to enter into the resturant market and establish yourself as there are already huge potential marketers in existence like Mc Donalds, KFC, and Barista etc., but still we had developed a very good strategy of firstly establish ourselves into the metro cities and accordingly will penetrate into other cities and then globally. Manager has to measure the actual performance either through consumer surveys or sales figure. Monitoring of the revenues generated on weekly basis. A general market research can be undertaken to generate the public views. Manager got to know these outcomes by comparing actual performance with set standards of new product. These steps also helped out to take further decision or plans. Genetic Polydactyly Disorder
Genetic Polydactyly Disorder Genetic Disorders Project Polydactyly Polydactyly is a common genetic disorder. It is a when someone with this disorder has an abnormal case of extra digits on their hands and / or feet. This disorder is usually found on the external side of the body. It is not common to be in the inter part of a body. Anyone can have polydactyly, such as animals or humans. There are a couple of ways to treat this disorder. The treatment is usually required for people that are concerned with their extra digits. Also, polydactyly is similar to the other genetic disorder, syndactyly. This genetic disorder affects many people. Polydactyly in the toes, especially the little toe, is a common malformation. It occurs in approximately two in 1,000 births and almost thirty percent of every child with polydactyly have relatives or family members with a particular type of polydactyly, or even syndactyly. Polydactyly refers to having extra digits in the hand and / or feet, extra fingers/ toes, and maybe even thumbs. This disorder is not sex linked and it can affect both males and females, although, males are more commonly affected. It is a dominant gene which means that if a child has a one parent with the trait and the gene, there is a 50% chance that the child will inherit it from the parent. It is sometimes a serious disorder but does not affect life span. You can have treatment for it but there is no prevention for this disorder. The treatment would to be to have a surgical procedure and have it taken off, as your own decision. The surgery for polydactyly is recommended, so if someone that is polydactyl decides to have the surgical procedure done, they usually would do it in their early years such as in there first 3 years at the most. If the parents or guardians decide not to have surgery, the child will most likely have to get used to the fact that they have extra fingers and re alize its ability to adapt to it. If a child has a minor case of polydactyly, the doctor will probably tie it at its base to prevent the flow of blood and the digit will just fall off. A surgeon or doctor would probably recommend having it removed at the first appointment you have scheduled. There are different forms of this genetically related disorder. Some different forms are a small and extra bump on the affected side of the hand. The finger might also be widened. At the end of the fingertips, an extra finger may dangle by a thin and narrow cord, from the hand. And another form or type of polydactyly is when the hand, in which looks very normal except for possibly one extra digit, such as a thumb, and maybe five extra fingers. There are an infinite number of variations for this disorder. Pierre-Louis Moreau de Maupertius (1698-1759) was the person that discovered polydactyly. He explained that the disorder can be found and inherited by the mother or the father. He demonstrated the trait as the result of mutation and provided the first accurate record of the transmission of a dominant trait in humans. It is a dominant trait in some communities. As a group, polydactyly affects mostly African Americans in a community. There are many causes for polydactyly. The causes are sometimes very bad and harmful. Of the many causes, some are rare and some are common. These are some causes: Ellis-van Creveld syndrome (chondroectodermal dysplasia) Carpenter syndrome Trisomy 13 Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome Smith-Lemli-Opitz Laurence-Moon-Biedl syndrome Asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy Yet these causes are not very well known, but, they can be difficult to deal with or handle. Polydactyly occurs in many people and in different types of people. Polydactyly occurs in one out of a thousand births. Usually right after a birth, the doctor or pediatrician suggests that the baby has the extra digit (toe or finger / thumb) surgically taken or removed off. This disorder results and takes place more in males. They are more commonly affected than females are. Also, African Americans are affected more by this disorder. Polydactyly and another genetic disorder called Syndactyly are closely related. To their extent, there are many similarities between the two genetic disorders. Polydactyly starts out as a paddle and then divides or splits into fingers very carefully. Since polydactyly strikes an appearance and arises, extra fingers are formed and created in a different way. In result of syndactyly, the same process is in occurrence and the only dissimilarity is that webbed fingers consequently resolute as an outcome. Webbed fingers are hard to control and cope with. It is hard to get a good grip and hold numerous objects or items. There are many symptoms of polydactyly and being diagnosed with the disorder. The symptoms consist of having more than normal number of digits of either the hand or foot, or having more than five on each hand or foot. The symptoms of polydactyly are: More toes than normal More fingers than normal Extra digit on hand Extra digit on foot Polydactyly is a common trait among cats. It seems that mostly Celtic cats and cats on part of Americas Eastern coast and South West Britain are diagnosed with polydactyly. This makes them polydactyl cats, such as humans that have polydactyly because they are polydactyl humans. Also, natural selection takes place in polydactyly in which it is in ordered form and not by random.
Scott Consigny on Protagoras and Logos: A Study in Greek Philosophy and Rhetoric. :: Philosophy Philosophical Papers
Scott Consigny on Protagoras and Logos: A Study in Greek Philosophy and Rhetoric Edward Schiappa's cogent and eloquent book fully deserves the praise it has received. As Donovan Ochs observes in his 1991 review of the book (RSQ 21: 3942), Schiappa, presents a clear account of Protagoras' philosophy and supports his reading with a detailed analysis of each of Protagoras' five extant fragments. But even though Schiappa's reading is compelling, we need not necessarily be persuaded by it; for as Protagoras himself remarks, it is always possible to articulate two opposed accounts about everything, and to make the ostensibly weaker account stronger. In this review I will undertake a "Protagorean" project, articulating and defending an account of Protagoras' philosophy that is opposed to Schiappa's account. To this end I will briefly sketch Schiappa's account, which I label an "enlightenment" reading of Protagoras, and I will then sketch an opposed, "rhetoricist" reading of the Sophist. Schiappa begins his study by acknowledging his debt to George Grote and Eric Havelock. Schiappa concurs with Grote's assessment of the Sophists as "a positive force" in the fifth-century Greek enlightenment (12); and he accepts Havelock's notion that the transition from orality to literacy in Greek society led to a progression "from a mythic-poetic to a more literate, humanistic-rationalistic culture" (21). Drawing on these two scholars, Schiappa depicts Protagoras as a pivotal figure of the fifth century enlightenment helping to transform Greece from an irrational, mythical and theocentric culture into a rational and humanistic culture. Schiappa then proceeds to examine Protagoras' contribution to this intellectual progress, namely his advocacy and analysis of logos, or "rationality" as the proper means of inquiry. In a detailed analysis of Protagoras' five extant fragments, Schiappa argues that Protagoras provides the groundwork for the subsequent development of rational inquiry by delineating the assumptions or principles, the proper procedure or method, and the kind of results or explanations that may be attained through rational inquiry. Concerning Protagoras' conception of the starting points or principles of inquiry, Schiappa argues that in his remark that "humanity is the measure of all things," Protagoras sharply differentiates his anthropocentric logos from the theocentric mythos of the poets who claim to be inspired by the gods. Schiappa also construes Protagoras' remark that he is unable to know whether or not the gods exist as further underscoring the Sophist's rejection of theocentricity. These remarks are fundamental to Protagoras' project, for in them he suggests that valid inquiry must be initiated by humans themselves, without information supplied by the gods.

God Has the Cure Essay -- Religion, God, The Church
Throughout the ages great thinkers and men with revolutionary ideas have been changing the world of understanding. During the Renaissance men like Vesalius, William Hervey, and Paracelsus revolutionize the understanding of medicine through the use of dissection and constant studying. However these men did not find change easy, the Christian Church was set in their ways and was reluctant to change. People where dying from unknown causes and the church had no answers. The Renaissance was a time for enlightenment and rebirth of new ideas, but the church inability to adapt and adopt the new discoveries and knowledge of medicine left society in the dark ages. The Church was not all prayers and hope when it came to medicine. They did believe in a set of ideas which came into effect, ââ¬Å"3,000 years ago when Hippocrates and Galen created four humors: Blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bileâ⬠(Dawson 8-9). These humors were what doctors used to diagnose patientââ¬â¢s illness based on the balance of each humor. If the patient felt ill, then the doctor would drain blood from the patient and send them on their way. Now medical science knows that blood is responsible for the curing of ailments and by draining that patientââ¬â¢s blood, they are even less likely to recover. The church agreed with Galen because, ââ¬Å"His view was in line with the Christian belief that God had created human beings and therefore the human body must be a perfect creationâ⬠(Dawson 14). The church also agreed with Hippocrates because he had gathered his knowledge of human anatomy from the dissection of animals because, ââ¬Å"The human body was seen as sacrilege and doctors faced legal and censure if dissection was attemptedâ⬠(Kate 2). With this information patients of the Renaissanc... ... looking for hope and finding nothing from the church. The churches inability to change delayed the new understanding and medical advancements for thousands of years. Many questions arise when thinking about this time period, what would our world be like if the great thinker of the time were allowed to work freely? Would there be more cures for deadly disease? And how many lives could have been saved with this knowledge. Those questions will never be answered but the question still stand. The idea of religious freedom from education has been an issue even to this day. Seeing how it worked out for the Renaissance thinkers it will stay as an issue. When one is told what to believe and not to question, they should stop and ask why. Because faith is based on knowledge and knowledge is something that is acquired thought to constant questioning of old ideas.

What Factors affect Britains climate?
Weather is different in every country even city. Climate is the general weather conditions usually found in a particular place. Through climate we can judge the type of fruit or vegetables that grow in a certain area. The Mediterranean climate is good for growing citrus fruits and grapes. Where as the American climate is good for growing bananas and Indian and Pakistani climate is perfect for mangoes. Britain is an island country and is surrounded by sea which gives it a varied climate. We never actually know what the weather will be like, one day it might be sunny the next there might be rain. As we have such a variable climate its hard to predict in general we have warm summers and cool winters our summers our cooler than other countries because we are surrounded by sea but our winters are milder. The main influence on Britain's climate which are important are latitude , altitude ,distance from the sea, ocean currents and the prevailing winds. Latitude: Latitude is the position north or south of the equator measured from 0à ¯Ã ¿Ã ½ to 90à ¯Ã ¿Ã ½. If you are on the equator then your latitude would be zero. If you are near the north pole your latitude would be nearly ninety degrees north and if you are more to the south pole your latitude would be almost 90 degrees south. The further away from the equator you are the colder it is. Therefore when we compare the UK with a country such as Egypt, Egypt is always hotter because its more nearer to the equator than UK. As you can see on the diagram Egypt is more nearer to the equator than Britain and is therefore more warmer.(the diagram is not accurate jus a rough estimation of where the two countries may be) as one gets above tropic of cancer or Capricorn, the climate becomes milder, with warm summers and cold winters. This is known as temperate climate and this is what the UK climate is referred as. At points furthest away from the equator, the climate is colder and is called polar. Altitude: Altitude is the height above sea level, the higher we go the colder it gets altitude may be measured in units such as metres or miles but is usually measured in feet. When I say the higher you go the colder it gets a mere example is on top of mountain peeks, the peeks are way high up and it is much much much colder there and therefore the air there freezes into ice or snow. In Britain there are a few mountains but we are surrounded more by the sea and therefore the mountains don't have a lot of effect in Britain. Other countries such as Nepal that have a lot of mountain ranges are very cold and I personally think its because of the mountains. The temperature falls by about 1 degrees for ever 100 metres above sea level. Distance form the sea: The sea is cooler than land during summer and warmer in winter because it conducts heat slower than land and cools down slower than land in winter. Land heats up faster than sea because its denser and has a bit of metal in it which is a very good conductor heat. The centre of continents are subject to a large range of temperatures. In the summer, temperatures can be very hot and dry as moisture from the sea evaporates before it reaches the centre of the continent. Distance from the sea has a great effect on Britain as you can see on the map that Britain is surrounded by water an therefore makes our summer cooler and our winters are much milder. Prevailing wind direction: prevailing wind direction means the direction wind comes from. Winds that blow from the sea often bring rain to the coast and dry weather to inland areas. Winds that blow to Britain from warm inland areas such as Africa (a warm hot area) will be warm and dry. Winds that blow to Britain from inland areas such as the Netherlands (cold region) will be cold and dry in winter. Britain's prevailing winds come from a south westerly direction over the Atlantic. The winds are cool in the summer and mild in the winter. Because Britain's wind comes from the south west this means it brings fairly warm air because it comes from near the equator. It also brings water vapour from the ocean(as it comes over the Atlantic ocean)- and that means more rain! Ocean currents: The North Atlantic Current (North Atlantic Drift and the North Atlantic Sea Movement) is a powerful warm ocean current that continues the Gulf Stream northeast. Ocean currents can have a great effect on tempratures either reduce it or increase it. The main ocean current that affects UK is the gulf stream. The gulf stream is a warm ocean current in the north atlantic flowing from the gulf of mexico. The gulf of mexico has a higher temprature than uk because its more closer to the equator where as uk is more futher away near the north pole. This means that the air coming from the Gulf of Mexico to Britain is also warm. However, the air is also quite moist as it travels over the Atlantic ocean. This is one reason why Britain often has wet weather. Some local factors affecting climate: There are some local factors which don't have a major affect but do in a way affect all climate such as the two following; One place may be warm and dry because it is sheletered by hills whereas another place may unmasked to wind and rain. Also electronic things, cars leting of gas and central heating also give out heat. So therefore the city is made to be more warmer than the countryside. Air mass Some part of the world is hot some is cold. The result is that the air moves around- like the air in a cold building when you turn on the heater or even the cooker in the kitchen. The air moves around the world in huge blocks known as air masses. An air mass can be thousands of km across. It can be warm or cold or any temperature but depending on where it came from. If for example an air mass comes from the north pole and moves over to the UK there will be cold and dry weather if an air mass coming from the equator (a warm dry place) there will be warm weather. Often two different air masses will meet and clash over the UK which causes sudden changes in weather. Many different air masses cross Britain. That's why our weather changes so fast but if an air mass stays very slow or stays in one place the weather stays the same for days. The weather does not change from day to day at the tropics and poles because they have the same type of air mass all year round. Conclusion: In conclusion, although many factors affect Britain some are more imporant than others. Like the direction in which the suns ray hit the earth (equator). How far away a place is from the equator (latitude) the height above sea level (altitude), the distance from the sea, the direction the winds come from and the ocean currents. But all of these are based on one major factor which I didn't mention the SUN. How the sun affects us is affected by the rotation of the earth, latitude and cloud cover. Cloud cover is affected by the wind, another important factor, and the wind is affected by what it has passed over and altitude. Mountains redirect wind or force it up to form clouds if the wind has passed over a warm sea it will warm and wet, and if it has passed over a cold land mass it will be cold and dry. The sea have a huge impact on the land masses. Minor factors such as how built up a place is can have a big impact but in small areas, and lastly the ocean currents also is realted to which sea it came from then where about the sea is(maybe near the equator). So the sun to me is main factor which affects all climste including Britain's but Britains climate is more or less linked with the factor; the distance from the sea which is as I mentioned before is realated to the sun in all ways. Where we live in britain (england) the temprature in winter is not much less than 0à ¯Ã ¿Ã ½C and in summer not much higher than 32à ¯Ã ¿Ã ½C in the summer. Also the weather her is damp and there may be lots of sudden changes. Rain is fairly well distributed throughout the year, with February to march being the driest period and October to January the wettest. The Lake District is England's wettest region, receiving and average of 130 inches (330 centimetres) of precipitation( different forms of water falling from the sky) each year.

Report writing on Communications Problems
Nikkei Meta highlighted the small things to be considered while communicating in a group or at personal level such as difference between observation and perception. As the course gradually moved on, professor introduced a case on communication problems in supply chain based industries in which the teams were asked to speak about the case and come to some conclusion. The main part was to present that case in front of the camera. My group got the first chance to present the case, and we were fortunate because we got know our natural skills to resent. After the presentation, professor Nikkei Meta, Assistant professor, National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Iambi threw the feedback to us highlighting our shortcomings. Later on we were asked to do the rehearsals as many times as possible before second video recording session. We rehearsed for 12 times to count the time and to check preparation level. Initial days we rehearsed for 60 minutes. As days were passing we had increased the duration of the speech from 60 seconds to 75 seconds,75 seconds to 90 seconds and later moved to 90 seconds to 120 seconds. We have filled the public speaking rubric form once in every alternative days when we had finished our practice. During rehearsals initially I thought my problem was speech appendages. But after rehearsals I found out the real weaknesses other than fillers which are long pauses, lower confidence levels in public speaking, nervousness. With the advice of team members worked on my weaknesses and reduced some of the mistakes through continuous rehearsals. It helped to improve my confidence levels , how to make draft so that long pause weakness can be minimized. In addition to that I improved my interpersonal skills.Later on we were asked to present the same case in front of camera to capture our improvements, preparation, and team coordination. To capitalize this opportunity, we followed a simple methodology. Before going for recording, we rehearsed for 3 times to count the time and to check preparation level. Also we could find the mistakes at the time of rehearsal only which benefited us not repeating the same while recording. We could observe the body language of each other and suggest improvements. Once we had done with our recording, it was shown in the class. Professor critically examined y moments in the presentation with our natural response. He commented on our individual performance as well as entire team highlighting the hand movements, voice modulation, rush delivery, etc. For further improvements sir gave us one more chance for recording. This time, we gone more prepared and we were more confident. For the second time, recording process was much smoother as compared to first time. We analyzed the second recording in a group and compared it against first recording. We could notice many improvements over the last recording on which we worked regularly, but still there is scope for improvements for each one of us.

Adapting adult language and interactions Essay
Explain how adapting adult language and interactions can support a childââ¬â¢s behaviour, emotional, social skills, as well as support their communication development The amount and style of adult talk can greatly influence the environment and how accessible it is to children with speech, language or communication needs. Giving children time to process and understand information, and to respond is crucial. By adapting their use of talk in the setting and in particular their level of language, adults can really enhance their learning development as well as supporting their communication skills. Adults can support this through a number of ways. These include: ââ¬â Focus on what the child is looking at or doing ââ¬â Follow their lead/ topic of conversation. Encourage children to talk about their own interests at appropriate times. By acknowledging all efforts at communication it shows that the child is valued. This will help build a positive relationship and support the childââ¬â¢s independence and self-confidence. ââ¬â Get down to the childââ¬â¢s level ââ¬â Itââ¬â¢s easier to talk if you are face to face. Taking it in turns to communicate so that the adult and the child both get a turn talking, giving choices to increase vocabulary, e.g. apple or orange? Build up your childââ¬â¢s sentences by repeating what they say and adding words. If the child says a word inaccurately, acknowledge what they have said and repeat it back ââ¬Ëonceââ¬â¢ correctly. ââ¬â Use of rhetorical/ open questions and expanding statements ââ¬â Making sure you use lots of statements and fewer questions. Scaffolding techniques (whereby keywords and phrases are repeated) ââ¬â Giving children and young people the time needed to respond and process information ââ¬â Provide opportunities to communicate. ââ¬â Work one-to-one or in small groups ââ¬â Give opportunities that facilitate communication with their peers (since social skills and language are inherently deeply rooted). ââ¬â Letting children work in pairs to encourage listening to each other. ââ¬â Circle time can help develop listening skills andà better attention. ââ¬â Use of shorter sentences. ââ¬â Support what you say with visual cues, gestures, diagrams etc. ââ¬â Listen and show interest with eye contact, body language etc. ââ¬â Give positive feedback.
